For the big one 🎃, they take turns each year choosing the main idea and then we all contribute to the details. This year it was #JackSkellington from Nightmare Before Christmas. Sometimes when I’m traveling, I don’t have time to Sometimes when I’m traveling, I don’t have time to research where the vegan spots are to eat. Busy schedule, planning adventures, etc, can monopolize time. And almost every time that happens I randomly stumble upon a phenomenal vegan spot in the middle of nowhere. Often when I’m not even looking for a place to eat at that time. Well it happened again on my trip to Mexico City. I was walking to my next destination, and bam, there it was. I’m just somehow always sniffing these places out all over the world! 🤩 Even in countries that you wouldn’t think would have them (Croatia for instance). This place, @vegamo.mexico, was amazing. Great food options, clean ingredients, a beacon of health in the bustling massive urban sprawl that is Mexico City. Lovely staff. I had the empanadas and the fresh fig salad. Delicious. #latergram - Had another amazing experience last m #latergram - Had another amazing experience last month singing in a one day #choir with the brilliant @asherbl_nk ! This time in a warehouse loft type of space, surrounded by large windows exposing all of LA’s sights and sounds around us…the freeway juxtaposed in the background, vehicles whipping by as we workshopped this song with focused energy. . We breathed life into his phenomenal arrangement of @jacobcollier ’s rad song “WELLLL”. A more intimate group this time compared to the larger gatherings. Having so much fun re-connecting to this side of my music endeavors. . Thank you to the artists who showed up and poured their talents and hearts into this. It will never cease to amaze and astonish me that we can come together and rock this out in a matter of hours 🤯. Yesterday, Sunday, June 29, 2025 - I had one of th Yesterday, Sunday, June 29, 2025 - I had one of the most fulfilling & joyous artistic experiences of my 20+ years in Los Angeles. I participated in the @onedaychoirla held by @gaiamusiccollective . As some may know, I sing, but haven’t done so in this type of choir setting in many many years. I was excited but nervous, not sure what to expect. . We were sent the music prior to the day so we could be familiar with it (but no requirement to memorize). The idea is to get a group of musical strangers together for a few hours and see what kind of magic we can put together, then be on our way. An artistic one-and-done. Well, to say it was magical would be an understatement. . Such a brilliant arrangement of @hozier ’s stunning song “Take Me to Church” was created by @kenterdavies . Our fearless amazing choral leader, @asherbl_nk guided us through this musical journey with such buoyant, infectious joyful energy. I’m humbled by the level of immense talent and skill to create this. . The setting was an old church in the heart of LA, with acoustics and ambiance to match the vibe. As the ice broke between all of us and we began to let loose, the energy became electric. After a short break from rehearsals, we did what I would call something like a “musical meditation”. (NOTE: I’ve posted more about the meditation experience in the comments - it was otherworldly!) . From there we workshopped the song a bit more and then did 3 full run-throughs. I recorded two of them and intercut them to create this video. One is a wide shot where you get a sense of the overall room and sound. The other shot is more in the middle of it all, closer to the tenor section I was part of. I’m still beyond blown away that a large group of strangers can get together and create something so beautiful. . Thank you to everyone that I met and talked to and to all you wonderful artists who joined. This was unforgettable. Thank you to the organizers for helping me wake up a part of my soul I’d been missing for awhile. So much gratitude and joy from this experience, it’s hard to put into words. Hope you enjoy listening to the video as much as we enjoyed making it. This is what the world needs more of!

Last weekend I checked off a goal from my bucket l Last weekend I checked off a goal from my bucket list - Run a #HalfMarathon! 🙌🏽💥 . Why? Well, aside from my commitment to #health and #wellness, it’s something I’ve wanted to do for over 30 years. I was never a long distance runner. I was a sprinter and jumper in high school track & field. So, pushing myself physically and mentally to do a half-marathon was a challenge I wanted to take on. But injuries, timing, and eventually knees that couldn’t hang anymore by my late 20s made that dream slip away. So, I gave up the running for more low impact cardio and longer distance hiking. . However, almost 20 years later, 12 years of being vegan, 10 years of switching my running gait to a more barefoot style of running and my knee pain was mostly gone. Inspired by some friends, I started running longer distances again about a year ago. Ran a 5K, a few 10Ks, and I was able to take on this #GriffithParkHalfMarathon trail run (trail because it has better impact on knees than road). . Through rain, mud, doubts, pains, pulled my left hamstring pretty bad - I pushed through it all and finished. So grateful to be healthy enough to do one. I found the whole experience to be very cathartic and metaphorical for life. You may have a plan of how you want things to go, but undoubtedly life will throw you curveballs. How you react and respond to those bumps in the road, or trail, is what you have under your control. Learn & grow from them, and most importantly KEEP GOING! Sometimes you need a reminder that you have the perseverance, fortitude, tenacity, integrity, and commitment to achieve a goal. In a seemingly disposable society we toss out the “old” for the new shiny object - whether it’s things, discarding people, places, whatever - values are getting diluted in society. So, why run this race? I can promise you this - I learned more about myself in this race than I would have sitting on my butt watching a baking show marathon 😉🎉 . Will I ever do a full marathon? I don’t know, probably not. This distance pushed me to the edge. But you never know. I may try a Triathlon and/or Ironman soon though! 💪🏽🌱 . #running #runner #veganathlete #plantpowered #pushyourself #lovelife

Last week our girl hit double digits… 10 years old Last week our girl hit double digits… 10 years old, wow! She has been getting into Harry Potter lately and made it a goal to read all the books before her birthday so we could watch the first film the day of (we have a rule that if a book exists of a film adaptation, they need to read the book first before watching). And in 3 wks she knocked em out, even though we only asked her to read the 1st one 🤯 So proud of her and the love of reading she’s developed 📚 We did a Harry Potter themed little celebration before the movie. And I made her a blueberry pie, per her request (vegan, gluten free of course ☺️😉) So fun to share these amazing stories with her. @trebunskaya

Re-used the same wooden form and some decorations (dried berries, pine cones, bells, etc), plus fresh berry branches found on a hike (on the ground), and fresh cut branches you can source every year from most #Xmas tree lots - just ask! Then used metal wire to hold it to the form, and finished it off with a strand of battery powered lights and the bells, it’s a really fun, #festive, and creative holiday project to work on with the kids. #holidayseason #wreathmaking #dadlife #familytime #christmas #happyholidays
